Educating the UnEducated....

Hi All,
For the past few days a strange idea was hitting me. It was not one of the ideas that just spark and goes off, but something which continuously lingers on and makes my mind restless. Its basically not an idea but a thought which i think everyone needs to look at. Well what it is all about we will come to know within couple of minutes. But before that a small prologue need to be given as that makes more sense.
As for the introduction is concerned, i feel i should keep it as down to earth as possible. It is because of this that the subject will be more understandable and will make more sense. A few days back i came across one article in one of the esteemed newspaper. It was all about why the government is not doing anything on saving the natural resources. It also tells about the various ways the government lacks the resources to tackle the problems. There were some well coloured graphs that showed various facts and figures.

I minutely went through that article and was amazed to find the extent of natural resources that India possess. And the way we are utilizing it or misutilizing it. But one thing is for sure if the utilized resource is properly used then at least a large section of the society can be blessed with the benefit of the natural resources that only at the present a very few have.

And when I am talking about the utilization of the natural resources I meant to say the the way people use the resources. And this is where we need to look at. This is an area where we can put a lot of thought. A considerable look on this will save a lot of waste and that can be converted into a more meaningful utilization. It can be used to light up the life of many people in cities, in villages and in the remote corner of this country.

The article talked a great deal about the natural resources like water, air and sunlight. Water is a very important component of human life. No one on earth can ever think of anything with out water. But I was rather amazed about the way we waste water in our daily life. And worst of all it is the educated people, the highly qualified lot who carted to this nonsense act. And indeed even after repeated saying the same thing goes on. This is what the type of education we receive in our schools. We can use a very little water and all that matter is a little bit more of common sense that will create a great deal of difference. If all of us contribute a little bit daily that really makes a lot of difference.

Well, my point here is that we, the educated lot should be more careful in the utilization of natural resources. We don't need a government to do everything for us. Instead we our self can take the ownership of the social responsibility. We can definitely make more difference if we can contribute in our own small way instead of depending on any one. And at the end of the day we can do a lot not for our country but also for ourselves and our future families. It is in India only that our future generation will reside. No other country in the world will take our citizens and will feed them. It is this country only we will stay and will grow old. But I doubt as to how many of the educated people of today's world believe in such a idea. Instead we are very happy passing the buck back to the government and waiting for the days when every thing will be over. And I bet if this is what is going on then very soon we will have that day.
Isn't it a wonderful thing to let our future generations play in the world full of green trees and pristine water and all other natural resources. And for that we don't really need to pay a very high price ... just a little bit of common sense and a love for our future generation.....
